FAQ

The questions with uncomfortable answers, answered first.

Whether this gets in your way, whether we read your prompts, and how little money is actually on the table. Every figure below is a current default, and where a limit exists it is stated rather than buried.

The format

What actually appears on screen.

The single most common objection is that this will get in the way. It is worth knowing exactly how small the unit is.

Is this intrusive?
No. A sponsored placement is one line of text, inline and clearly labelled. It is never a banner, never a popup, never an interstitial, and it never blocks or delays the response you asked for. Nothing overlays the AI tool's interface, and how the model answers does not change.See the mechanics
Which AI tools are supported?
AIRewards supports Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, Visual Studio Code, Cline, and Aider via our 1-step installer (npx -y @airewards/cli-wrapper install-extension). Additionally, the browser extension supports ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Grok on Chrome, Brave, Edge, and Arc.Installation guides
When does an impression count?
A sponsored line has to be visible for at least 5 seconds, and at least 20 seconds must separate one impression from the next. A line scrolled past instantly is not a billable impression for the advertiser and does not accrue anything for you.
Privacy

What is recorded, field by field.

This is the claim most worth being precise about, because it is checkable against the database schema rather than a promise.

Do you read my prompts?
No. Prompt content is never stored, and neither is the model's response. An impression row records exactly four things about the context: conversation_id, provider, platform, and duration_ms — an identifier for the conversation, which AI provider and platform it was, and how long the line was visible. Not the prompt text. Not the response text. Not a summary of either. There are also no cookies and no third-party trackers.Read the privacy policy
How is an impression verified without reading the conversation?
Each impression carries a cryptographic tracking signature that is uniquely constrained, so the same impression cannot be submitted twice. Verification works from that signature and from timing, not from content.
The money

How much, and when.

The honest arithmetic, including the ceiling. We would rather you read the caps here than discover them after installing.

How much can I actually earn?
You receive a 50% revenue share on sponsored lines you saw — but accrual stops at $2.00 in a day and $10.00 in a week. The weekly cap binds first: five days at the daily maximum reaches it, and heavy usage beyond that adds nothing. So the honest arithmetic is up to about $10 a week and roughly $40 in a month of hitting the ceiling every week. This is pocket change, not an income, and we will not imply otherwise. Both caps are current defaults and can change; that there is a cap will not.
When do I get paid?
A reward accrues as pending, clears after a 168-hour (7-day) settlement delay, and then becomes available to withdraw. The minimum withdrawal is $10.00, which is also the weekly cap — so earning at the cap, your first payout is about a week out. Payout methods are PayPal, crypto, and bank transfer. Nothing arrives by email: there are no email notifications of any kind, so status changes show up in your dashboard.
Why is there a settlement delay?
The 7-day window is when fraud evaluation happens, before funds become withdrawable. Five layers score every impression — velocity limits, duplicate detection, device fingerprint reuse, account reputation, and campaign concentration — and the score routes it to clear, hold for review, or reverse. Paying instantly would mean paying out before that check completes, which is also what would make the inventory worthless to the advertisers funding it.
Is earning free?
Yes, and there is no paid version. There is no subscription, no setup fee, and no platform fee taken out of a withdrawal beyond whatever the payout provider itself charges to move the money.Full pricing
Holds and reversals

When money moves backwards.

Balances can go down as well as up, and the conditions are worth knowing in advance rather than at the moment it happens.

Can a reward be taken back?
Yes. A reward can be locked while a fraud review, dispute, or admin action is open, and marked REVERSED outright for confirmed fraud, a duplicate impression, abuse, or an admin adjustment. Reversed is terminal. Corrections are append-only: a reversal is a new ledger entry rather than an edit, so financial history is never rewritten in place and every balance stays derivable from the ledger. The platform's stated priority is that advertiser protection outranks maximising user rewards — when a signal is uncertain, it holds or reverses rather than paying out.
What happens if an advertiser's budget runs out?
Serving stops for that campaign. Each campaign has a daily budget, and the guard is enforced before an impression is billed rather than after — so spend does not overshoot the budget and then get reconciled. Because the wallet is prepaid, delivery also stops when the funded balance is exhausted. There is no lifetime campaign cap; pacing is a daily control.
Developers

Programmatic access.

There is an API. Here is the short version, with the detail on the docs page.

Is there an API?
Yes. The dashboard signs in with GitHub OAuth, and for programmatic use you generate a developer agent token — a rotatable API key, not a password — from your profile. Requests go to /v1/*, with rate limits enforced on a 60-second window: 100 requests per minute by default, 300 for ads and impressions, 120 for clicks. Exceeding a limit returns a 429 with a Retry-After header.Developer docs
Where do I get the extension?
You can download the browser extension ZIP directly from our website and load it unpacked via Developer Mode in Chrome, Brave, Edge, or Arc. The VS Code extension is also available as a direct .vsix download, and the CLI wrapper can be installed via npm.Installation guides and downloads
